A 27-year-old white male sprained his left ankle playing softball 4 days ago. He went to the local urgent care where the ankle was x-rayed and a grade 2 sprain was diagnosed. He was given crutches and advised to elevate and apply ice every 4 hours for several days. He was given 10 Percocet (q4-6 hrs prn) at the urgent care which has used. Today, he is on your schedule for a follow-up. He is requesting a refill of his Percocet because, although he feels improvement, he is still experiencing discomfort in the ankle.
