Written CommunicationYou are a regional manager at the Walk-In Closet clothing store and you just received the most recent feedback from a mystery shopper’s in-store experience report. One thing that caught your eye in this report is the mystery shopper had a hard time identifying a staff member to help them get a changing room. They go on to mention that it was difficult to distinguish between who was a sales associate and who was a customer because there was no standard work uniform. This is not the first time you have read a comment like this. You decide it is time to take action by establishing a dress code for all staff. You are aware there may be some push back from the staff, but if you provide each employee with at least one Walk-In Closet shirt (short or long sleeve) the dress code transition may be easier.Your task is to write a three-paragraph (minimum) memo addressed to the store managers in your region on the decision to implement an employee dress code program that will be fully implemented by the start of Q3. This memo will discuss the rationale, benefits, costs, and time frame involved in executing the new dress code policy. Be sure to address the audience properly and write as a concerned executive. You may also draw from your personal work experience with appropriate examples to support your references. If you’re not familiar with the Memo style, you can view a sample memo. (Note: Your memo does not need to contain every section included in the sample memo. Just be sure to include the date, recipient, sender, subject, and at least three paragraphs addressing the topic.)Essential Activities: Reading Module 3 will assist you in writing your paper. Watching the videos, “The Key Forms of Business Writing: Basic Memo” and “The Importance of Writing in Business” will assist you in writing your paper. Introduction1Oluebube OgoaziChamberlain UniversityCritical ReasoningDr. StephensMarch 10, 20242What benefits would defunding the police actually bring?I have chosen this topic specifically because police brutality has become amore pressing issue since social media became wide spread. Personal history alsoconnects me to this issue due to incidents that have happened with my brother. Mybrother has faced police brutality from Nigeria even moving to the United states. Thereason this topic was chosen is because there are a number of reasons why the policeshould be defunded, including the reduced biases, less violent crime by police andrelocating funds to working and succeful organizations. One of the main reasons why police should be defunded is reduced biases.Policing has been effective I going after certain groups of people including, foreigners, marginalized people and people of certain races. Racial profiling indulges andperpetuates the description that already marginalized people face. Police should not begiven the opportunity to “guess” who has committed a crime. Believing someone iscrime perpetrator without evidence or facts but solely on how they look like leads toviolence and trauma. Another human or group of people should not wield thatauthority.Defuding the police also reduces violence and death caused by biases, discrimination and racial profiling. Police having the authority to choose who theybelieve is guilty is detrimental to the people. Detrimental because it leads to violence, severe injury and sometimes death of people in the community. These incidenceshave happened more often than none, and with the prevalence of social media it isbecoming a more informed about topic (PBS news). For example, the incident withGeorge Floyd in 2020, which became popular because of the media. These multiple experiences are part of the reason that people and citizens donot have trust for the police. The original purpose of the police was “slave patrol”3according to the NAACP and that has become increasingly known to the public.People that are meant to protect and serve as well as gain and retain people’s trust areevidently not doing their jobs. Still, they consume tax payer dollars when these fundscan be allocated into an organization that actually works.4ReferencesThe Origins of Modern Day Policing. (n.d.).
